What To Do When You Don't Know What To Do

Part 9 of 10

A black wall with the words DREAM BIG. in ivory paint.

Welcome back.  Hopefully you have leaned into who you are and accepted all of you.  Now, are you ready to act?  Your old ways got you stuck, so it is time to try something new.  This is where the rubber will hit the road because doing something new is the antithesis of safety and security.  This is the time you will want to stay in the nest, afraid to fly.  Consider me the mother bird kicking you out of the nest.  Everything you have learned and done before prepares you for this point.  Will you allow yourself to soar?  The hardest part is often getting started.  Mentally prepare yourself for the ground rushing up to meet you when you jump.  Nurture yourself and get ready.

You have to have fertilizer for things to grow.  Yes, you will get dirty and it is going to require work.  This is where the clarity becomes essential.  Having a vision will help you to persevere and stick with it.  Put on your armor to help you sustain the slings and arrows that will come your way.  The good news is that you will be the most likely person throwing them.  Self-talk is powerful.  This is why I am a fan of play.  Approaching things in a playful manner takes away the high stakes feeling.  It’s a game.  You get to roll the dice again.  Sometimes you may turn over the game board and have to start again.  That is okay.  If you know where you are going, you will eventually get there.

A sales technique is the “if you could wave a magic wand” question.  When you have clarity, it is easier to get into flow.  It may seem like magic, but it is really the result of hard work, preparation, trust and will to keep going.  Like the band America sang,  “You can do magic// You can have anything that you desire// Magic, and you know //You’re the one who can put out the fi re.//…//You know darn well//When you cast your spell you will get your way” Clarity allows you to manifest your desires seemingly like magic.  If you know who you are, you will know what you are capable of doing.

Once you get started everything is exciting.  Then Shiny Object Syndrome kicks in and you think you want to do something else.  This is why having clarity becomes essential because it will give you the fortitude to stick with your vision even when it has dulled a bit.  What you think becomes your reality.  I have wanted to give up so many times, but I know who I am and that I was put on this earth to share my gifts with others.  I wish I could tell you that humans are rational beings, but we are not.  Our feelings definitely come into play.  If you go to a party and feel that everyone else is having fun except you, you may forget that you too can lean into the music and dance.  The choice is yours, wallflower, life of the party, or go throw your own bash!  Namaste.
