From Overwhelm to Action 03.29.26

The Seven of Wands

Hi, friends 👋🏽. I’m Stacy Casson, Chief Play Officer at Things to Think About, LLC. Play is serious business and necessary for effective problem-solving. I’ve learned to create calm in the chaos, having raised five kids. I’ve used process improvement techniques to successfully manage parenting responsibilities. I can help you find manageable ways to empower your kids and move from overwhelm to action. Let’s get started.

Celebrate Your Wins

Pause for a moment:

What’s one thing you accomplished this week—big or small?

Did you deal with a stressful event effectively?

Cleared out your medicine cabinet?

Have an epiphany?

Drop your win in the comments or share it with a friend!

My wins: I successfully delivered my talk, “A Clean Room, A Clear Mind,” at the Health Wealth Wisdom: Parents' Edition LIVE Super Summit. I began substitute teaching, and my son’s prediction of the kids eating me alive did not come true 😊. I finally had lunch with a dear friend that we have been trying to plan for the past twenty years, and I volunteered at a local community event. Our decluttering efforts with paper have remained successful. Reflecting on your wins helps to keep the momentum when you are lacking motivation.

Every week, we explore a Tarot card because Tarot is rich in symbology and helps us to tap into our intuition. Reflecting on the card and noting what comes to mind is a metaphorical form of brainstorming that can provide insights when problem-solving.

Card of the Week: Seven of Wands

A man holding a staff stands his ground against six other staffs. My initial impressions are about protecting time and energy. I triple-booked myself last week, and I’ve committed to reviewing my schedule on the weekend and not booking more than two major events. As parents, it’s tempting to schedule every moment of our kids’ day as well. If you are stressed about managing the logistics, imagine how your kids feel.

The Pattern It Reveals

This person understands the need to set and hold a boundary. He is standing on a cliff, with nothing behind him. You are your last defense. It takes courage to be aligned with your values. Jillian “Mama J” Love reminded me about the JOMO – the Joy of Missing Out. You have much to gain by protecting your time and energy.

The Question Worth Asking

When faced with a choice, ask yourself, “Is this aligned with future me?” This will help you to understand when you need to stand your ground.

One Small Experiment to Try This Week

Take a moment to review next week’s schedule. Do you have any space to breathe? Try to build in at least five minutes of downtime. During that time, stay off your phone and computer. Hide in the bathroom or your car if you need to. Then notice how you interact with your loved ones. Are there any noticeable changes?

Ready to move from overwhelm to action?

Book a Calm Down call with me and allow yourself to surrender to a peaceful moment. In that session, we get to know each other, and I walk you through a brief meditation. Then we can see how I can guide your parenting journey. My clients note a palpable reduction in their stress levels after our meeting.
