Happy Birthday Weekend to Me :)

Hi, Subscribers. This blog uses the power of Play to guide our daily lives. Play can help you grow personally and professionally and helps to power up your creativity, problem-solving skills, and overall well-being. Let’s set ourselves up for success and inspiration, and remember to find joy in every step of our development.

It’s time for an accountability check-in. Communication is going strong. I’ve not kept up with my art, but I got a nice sketchbook and supplies from my Mother-In-Law for my birthday. The funeral program is printed, and I am taking a page from the lesson of delegation. I’ve not really had any traction on my Am I the @$$hole offering, so I have a new offering on my heart, and I will probably launch it, but let’s check in with my intuition. My potatoes are growing!!!

This week, we use Black Tarot: An Ancestral Awakening Deck by Nyasha Williams and illustrated by Kimishka Naidoo. I’m going with a less structured framework to be curious about what insights I will receive.

6 tarot cards. picture description at end of text

What is happening? We begin with The Ten of Baskets, a family eating a meal together. This has been my weekend since my sister took me out to lunch with my family for my birthday, and we tasted each other’s food and had a wonderful time in fellowship and community. Concerning my new offering, the question is, how do I engage with joy in my work? I am happiest when I am in collaboration with people. How can I reduce barriers so everyone can sit at the table? How can I operate in a way that does not stress me out and aligns with my identity?

What else? The Son of Wands is in a tank with two crocodiles in front of spectators. Two reminds me of choices and specific aspects of duality. I can take a risk and go a different way from conventional wisdom. My people are working to keep food on the table and navigate challenges. Predatory policies surround them, and I’m confident they want to come up for air. The son is aware of his circumstances and must adapt quickly to what the creatures do. I’ve never offered something like this, and I worry if it will bite me.

What else? The Eight of Wands shows a lady crossing the road holding many helium balloons. The balloons may be lifting her off the ground. I feel this is a card reminding me about the possibilities of things going right. I may tap into my niche and create win-win situations. I feel like I’m floating when I work with people and become energized seeing people make those connections for themselves. Balloons also remind me of simple, child-like pleasures. Yes, there is a helium shortage, and balloons contribute to plastic pollution. However, I am working with imaginary balloons, and the lady has a firm grip on them. I need to be ready for success.

What else? The Father of Baskets is harvesting the fruit he has planted. I have literal and metaphysical plants. My potatoes and scallions are sprouting, and we may have salvaged the rosemary plant. I’ve been trying different angles for years with varied amounts of success. Perhaps I was trying to harvest before the fruit was ready. Some gardening advice suggests picking flowers to prevent fruiting from new plants. Creating fruit requires a tremendous amount of energy. The Father is a mature gardener, whose bounty is neatly arranged and easy to harvest. He has a basket to collect the fruit, which hints at preparedness. Though his basket is getting full, fruit remains. I have to fill my basket and share from the overflow.

What else? The Four of Wands depicts a couple exercising together. They are perfectly balanced and strong. My latest offering came from an idea a friend had suggested years ago. Success is a team sport, and we benefit from community involvement. This couple has a quiet strength, and their movements showcase strength and flexibility. They aren’t doing frenetic moves, but their workout requires strength. I must ensure balance since I can become hyper-focused and work myself to burnout. When you are excited about something, what guardrails do you have in place to renew?

Finally, What do I think about my new offering? The Three of Baskets showcases three friends enjoying a leisurely picnic. They look happy, content, and abundant. They came prepared with a blanket and baskets with plates, utensils, wine, and food hampers. I have a good feeling about this. They are friends, and that’s a great segue into my new idea. I am excited to introduce my Professional Friend offering – a unique 45-minute session designed just for you. Think of it as having an unbiased ear, someone who offers a safe and supportive environment to explore your thoughts and feelings. You can also determine your price. If you are ready to go, click this link. If you want to have a chat about it, please complete this form. Please share this with anyone who could benefit from a friendly ear. And if you are thinking about your own new launch, I hope my journey was helpful and insightful. Namaste.
