From Overwhelm to Action

November 16th, 2025

Hi, friends 👋🏽. I’m Stacy Casson, Chief Play Officer at Things to Think About, LLC. With over twenty years of continuous improvement experience, I’ve learned to stay calm in a crisis—unless you’re that jerk in the white Tesla who doesn’t understand how indicators work. Get ready with me!

Is your calendar packed to the gills? Are you constantly double or triple-booked? Do you groan when your alarm goes off? You don’t have to face the overwhelm alone. I write this blog to help us get ready for the week ahead. As Dan Martell says, “A problem well defined is a problem half-solved.”

This week, we will seek inspiration from Ashley Snow’s Intuitive Mandala Oracle

5 cards with mandalas on them.

Step 1: Celebrate Your Wins

Pause for a moment:

What’s one thing you accomplished this week—big or small?

Did you nail that interview?

Successfully pulled off a TikTok recipe?

Make it through a challenging conversation?

This week, I planted some fruits and herbs, finished setting up my mason jar garden, spent quality time with my son cleaning the beach, and put myself out there on social media.

Drop your win in the comments or share it with a friend!

Step 2: Understand your starting point

Now that we have primed our brain for success by celebrating our wins, let’s reflect on our current situation:

What is your relationship with sleep?

Do you feel rested when you wake up?

I have been struggling with sleep for the past few weeks. I have taken advantage of my insomnia to bake cakes, but this is not a sustainable long-term solution. I’ve found that going to bed a little later results in staying asleep longer.

Challenge: Trouble sleeping usually signals an imbalance in your world. Where are you out of balance? Areas to consider: Physically, Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually, Vocationally, Financially, Socially, or Environmentally. What are the top two topics that resonate the most with you?

Step 3: Create a Season of Success

One thing that can help you achieve a better balance is to play. Do you take breaks? I was on vacation yesterday and dusted off one of my favorite video games. I finally achieved enough strength and renown to wear the fancy armor I had in storage.

It’s the start of winter where I live, but it’s the start of spring in other places. WE can’t control the external seasons, but we can create our own seasons of growth and change.

If it’s too cold to go outside, try looking at pictures of nature that bring you happiness and uplift.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Mini-exercise: Do one playful thing. Try that dance routine, or watch a funny short video, or play a game.

Step 4: Get Focused

Now that you have created your own personal summer of joy, it’s time to get clear.

Did you notice anything from your “to-don’t” list we discussed last week? I cancelled some plans and am using the time to be still.

Write down three things that you want to accomplish in the week ahead.

I’m going to visit some friends next week and watch to get another batch of cakes done. The rest…my secret. 😉

Look in the mirror and confidently share your plans with your reflection.

Step 5: Manifest baby!

Merriam-Webster says that to manifest is “to make evident or certain by showing or displaying.”

Tomorrow, when you wake up, I want you to reflect on the goals you wrote down. Ask yourself one simple question. Does my action get me closer to or further away from my goal?

Your actions make evident your mindset. Your environment is an external extension of your thoughts.

You are what you think. If you think you can, you will find a way to make it happen. You will lay out those exercise clothes or schedule “me-time” on your calendar. If you think you can’t, you will sit stuck in your overwhelm. I believe in you, do you? Namaste
