“What’s the cost per ounce?” My nephew had to choose between two skin products. One was good enough, and the other was excellent. The excellent one was double the cost of the good-enough by the ounce. What would you choose? Every week, we explore a Tarot card because Tarot is rich in symbology and helps us tap into our intuition.

Card of the Week: The 9 of Cups
A pleased, prosperous man sits in front of 9 cups displayed on a covered riser behind him. He looks content and very satisfied. Life is good for him.
The Pattern It Reveals
The person in the 9 of Cups seems to enjoy their life. They are well fed and appear to have everything they want. This person embraces good things. It was my brother-in-law’s birthday. He enjoys cocktails. My stomach prefers mocktails. I told him about these great mocktails we made with non-alcoholic spirits, and he was open to trying something new.
We went to the store and got all the fixings to make non-alcoholic passionfruit Bee’s Knees and Moscow Mules. The kids helped us to squeeze all the lemons and limes, and I had a drink assembly line going. The cost for non-alcoholic gin, non-alcoholic rum, passionfruit mixer, and ginger beer: $75. Making a memory for a great birthday celebration: Priceless.
The Question Worth Asking
Are you settling?
My nephew had saved up to buy the skin product, and he decided to get the more expensive one with the better rating. I honestly learned a lesson from him about choosing excellence. Getting the ingredients for the mocktails reminded me that investing time and energy is worth it for making priceless memories. Are you settling for exhaustion from all the chaos because you are too afraid to invest in finding better systems?
One Small Experiment to Try This Week
Choose excellence for yourself in one small part of your life. For example, if your coffee is always cold by the time you get to it, invest five minutes in drinking it hot. If you find yourself about to resentfully pick up the toys, invest in a boundary and let them sit there. Notice what happens.
