The 8 of Swords

A potential client said to me they felt they were dooming their kids because of their choices. It broke my heart a little because I remembered what it felt like to think you were ruining your kids. Let’s dig a little deeper. Every week, we explore a Tarot card because Tarot is rich in symbology and helps us tap into our intuition.

A person stands blindfolded, a sash wrapped around their arms, and eight swords surround them in a tide pool with a castle on a hilltop behind them.

Card of the Week: 8 of Swords

A person stands blindfolded, a sash wrapped around their arms, and eight swords surround them in a tide pool with a castle on a hilltop behind them.

The Pattern It Reveals

If you look closely, there are no visible knots, and the binding seems loose and easy to slip out of. The swords are not blocking her path. Feelings are not facts.

The Question Worth Asking

How do the stories you tell yourself help or harm you?

In the past, I used to tell myself I was a failure as a parent because I didn’t do all the things for them that my Mom did for me. Is this true? Not really. We always supported whatever they wanted to explore. Instead of beating myself up, I learned to be present with my kids.

One Small Experiment to Try This Week

When a limiting belief comes up, ask yourself, “Is this true?” Whether it is true or not, what is one tiny step you can take to make a change?

If you feel like a failure, you are not alone and probably just need a break. I have created a nurturing and supportive space with parents just like you. It’s called Peaceful Parenting, and we are solving challenges through the power of the collective. Join today: https://www.skool.com/peaceful-parenting-9319/about
