Hi, Subscribers. I am Stacy Casson, and I write this blog to get ready for the week ahead. This blog uses the power of Play to guide our daily lives. Play can help you grow personally and professionally, and it helps power up your creativity, problem-solving skills, and overall well-being. Let’s set ourselves up for success and inspiration, and remember to find joy in every step of our development.
It’s time for an accountability check-in. I lay down some paint on my painting and the washing machine is fixed. I worked late this week, but I feel good about no longer trying to fix things I did not break. This mantra is also an intention because Little Miss Fix It mode does not serve me or others. What were your wins this week?
This week, I’m travelling. I brought my cards, but I am going to use my friend, the random picture generator, and explore intentions for the new moon. This weeks questions come from Emerald Lotus. What are our intentions for the week and cycle ahead? I think what I wrote was a little vague and not S.M.A.R.T. goals, so let’s see what inspiration we can get from the pictures.
What does my body need right now? Picture by Alexas_Fotos

These two still birds look a little frazzled. Rest has been a constant theme for months now. Spending time with my elderly aunt this weekend has forced me to be still and to rest. I also like that they are little silly looking which reminds me to have fun. The birds seem to be mirror images of each other which makes me think about self-reflection. Their eyes have seen some things 😊 My aunt also pointed out that I never kept still. When I am finished with my blog, I am going to watch home renovation shows and read my book. How will you incorporate rest and fun into the week ahead?
Where am I holding myself to impossible standards? Picture by Alexas_Fotos

The photo shows an incredible artist painting a realistic mural using spray-paint. I know I am struggling with perfectionism. That painting I wrote about in my accountability section has been sitting there for at least a year, because I wanted it to be a masterpiece. Do you want to know a secret? I didn’t sing my song perfectly and…the world did not end. The piece she is working on is larger than life and I do not have to be larger than life. I can take it easy. A low effort day for me is generally a regular person’s 110%. I am enough. Will you allow yourself to be enough?
What’s one small change that would improve my daily routine? Picture by Elektro-Plan

I am going to take this picture literally. I tend to try and change everything, everywhere, all at once. These footsteps remind me to take baby steps when trying to change. So, what is my one thing? Movement. I have not been taking breaks and sitting too long daily. I am going to use a focus timer and I will get up at least every thirty minutes. I am fortunate to have a sit stand desk and I am going to start taking advantage of it.
What skill or quality do I want to grow next? Picture by wagrati_photo

What does an alpaca have to do with skill? I visited another cousin last week and they had an alpaca tapestry. Many people confuse them with llamas. I want to improve my skill of discernment especially about where to spend my energy. Last week, I realized that I had bitten off more than I could chew and it was not sustainable. Alpacas are social and sustainable creatures. I would like to improve my skill of finding other uses for items. What less can I do in the week ahead? Namaste
